During a recent fan meet and greet, Raiders All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby was directly asked by a young San Francisco 49ers supporter if he would consider a trade to the NFC West team. The fan, who had previously posted about Crosby, approached him with the direct question: "Will you please join the 49ers?"
Crosby appeared taken aback by the direct recruitment attempt. After a pause, he responded, "I can't. I can't," while shaking his head and laughing. He acknowledged the fan's effort, telling her, "You never know. You're the best though," before offering a high-five.
This exchange comes amidst ongoing speculation about Crosby's future with the Raiders. In March, trade rumors linked Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens, but the deal reportedly fell through after he allegedly failed a physical. Since then, Crosby and the Raiders have focused on repairing their relationship and moving past the trade discussions. Despite these efforts, speculation about a potential move before the 2026 NFL season has persisted.
The 49ers have been identified as one of the teams actively pursuing Crosby this offseason, aiming to pair him with star edge rusher Nick Bosa. Such a move could bolster San Francisco's defensive line as they prepare to compete in a division that includes recent Super Bowl champions and favorites for the upcoming season.
