Yankees WAGs Celebrate Series Sweep Over Red Sox
Wives and partners of Yankees players shared behind-the-scenes photos of their celebration following the team's American League wild-card series victory.
The wives and partners of New York Yankees players, known as WAGs, celebrated the team's sweep of the Boston Red Sox in the American League wild-card series. The Yankees secured their victory with a 9-2 win in Game 2 on Wednesday, clinching the best-of-three series.
Behind-the-scenes glimpses of the celebration emerged through social media, with players' wives and girlfriends sharing moments from the stands. Chase Carter Bellinger, wife of outfielder Cody Bellinger, posted an Instagram story featuring a photo with Amy Cole, wife of pitcher Gerrit Cole, and Natalie McMahon, wife of third baseman Ryan McMahon. The three were pictured with their arms raised in celebration.
Bellinger captioned the image "Woooohoooooo," noting that Ava O’Connor, girlfriend of rookie outfielder Spencer Jones, was behind the camera. O'Connor also shared photos on her Instagram story, including a collage of women in the suite, featuring Darby Warren, wife of pitcher Will Warren.
The Yankees' offensive performance in Game 2 saw them score six runs in the sixth inning, with Cody Bellinger hitting a three-run home run that extended their lead to 8-1. Over the two games, the Yankees outscored the Red Sox 18-2.
With this series victory, the Yankees advance to face the AL East champion Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, a best-of-five series scheduled to begin Saturday at Tropicana Field in Florida.
