A New York Yankees vs. New York Mets game commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks was briefly interrupted Friday night when a spectator ran onto the field waving a Palestinian flag. The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. at Yankee Stadium.

Security personnel tackled the individual in the outfield. Video from the scene appeared to show some fans throwing drinks and chanting "U-S-A" as the person was escorted off the field. The game, a 6-4 victory for the Yankees, resumed following the disruption.

The Yankees and Mets players wore special caps honoring first responders, and Major League Baseball players across the league featured a "We Shall Never Forget" side patch on their caps. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Brielle Saracini, whose father was the pilot of United Airlines Flight 175, which struck the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

Cody Bellinger hit a three-run homer in the second inning to help lift the Yankees, while designated hitter Ben Rice also homered. The Yankees' win improved their record to 85-62 and moved them 23 games above .500. The team remains three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East standings.

Carlos Rodón pitched 6.3 innings, allowing two runs and three hits, and recorded eight strikeouts. The Yankees' victory over the Mets was part of the Subway Series, with the second game scheduled for Saturday.
