The Yankees' offense found its breakthrough in the fourth inning against Rays pitcher Nick Martinez. Ben Rice hit a leadoff double, and Bellinger followed with a two-run home run, his 17th of the season, providing the game's only runs.
The Yankees (90-66) continue to trail the Rays (95-61) by six games in the AL East standings. While the division title seems increasingly unlikely, the win keeps the Yankees' hopes breathing.
