Yankees and Red Sox Set for Wild Card Series Showdown

If a Game 3 is necessary, it will be played on Thursday, October 1, also at 8 p.m. The pitching matchup is expected to be Gerrit Cole (10-9, 3.61 ERA) for the Yankees against Ranger Suarez (8-5, 3.22 ERA) for the Red Sox.

During the regular season, the Yankees held the edge over the Red Sox, winning seven of their 13 head-to-head matchups. Their last encounter on August 30 saw the Yankees defeat the Red Sox 16-1.

In terms of roster decisions, Yankees manager Aaron Boone has opted to leave Aaron Judge off the Wild Card round roster. However, Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham have been activated for the series. "I’m real confident if we play our game and pitch like we’re capable of, we got a chance to move on," Boone stated. "We got to play our best starting Tuesday."
