The New York Yankees have acquired outfielder Heliot Ramos from the San Francisco Giants as they continue to strengthen their lineup before the upcoming trade deadline. The move adds another offensive option to the Yankees' roster.

Ramos has demonstrated power in recent seasons, hitting 43 home runs across the previous two years. This season, he has contributed nine home runs with a .728 OPS in 74 games for the Giants. He has shown particular effectiveness against left-handed pitchers, posting a .292 batting average, a .343 on-base percentage, and a .492 slugging percentage against them this year. Throughout his career, Ramos has maintained an .847 OPS when facing left-handed pitching.

This acquisition follows another recent trade, as the Yankees previously acquired Luis Garcia Jr. from the Washington Nationals. Garcia, who has been a breakout player, was set to play first base and bat third on Monday night.
