Wyoming Man Accused of Threatening Woman with Gun, Sword, and Crossbow
Authorities arrested a Wyoming man who allegedly threatened a woman with multiple weapons, including a sword and crossbow, after accusing her of infidelity.
A 45-year-old Wyoming man, Jesse Ward, was arrested on October 10 after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun, a sword, and a crossbow. The alleged incident occurred after Ward accused the woman of cheating on him.
According to affidavits obtained by Cowboy State Daily, Ward held the woman at gunpoint, pointing his weapon at her head and stating, "I’m about ready to kill the evil that’s killing me." He reportedly made further threats, including, "I’m about ready to make you eat a bullet," and "I will turn around and get handcuffed after I put you out of your misery."
During the confrontation, which was reportedly captured on audio from a camera inside the bedroom, Ward allegedly put down the gun, which he nicknamed 'Glock 40,' to pick up a sword. The charging document notes that a sound consistent with the tip of a long blade being dragged across a surface could be heard. The woman stated that Ward lunged at her twice with the sword, threatening to kill her.
Afterward, Ward allegedly picked up a crossbow and pointed it at the woman. While the woman could not determine if the crossbow was ready to fire, she reported seeing a bolt in the device.
The woman managed to escape Ward by grabbing the gun and leaving the house. She later re-entered the residence and locked herself inside when Ward came outside looking for her. She attempted to call law enforcement, but Ward allegedly forced his way back into the house and knocked the phone from her hand.
Ward is currently being held at the Laramie County Jail with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on October 21.
