Wynonna Judd Learned of Daughter's Pregnancy on TikTok Amid Estrangement
The country music star expressed heartbreak and a sense of shock upon discovering her incarcerated daughter, Grace Kelley, was expecting a child.
Wynonna Judd revealed that she learned of her incarcerated daughter Grace Kelley's pregnancy through TikTok, highlighting the ongoing estrangement between them. Judd expressed her heartbreak, stating that Kelley had cut off contact a year prior.
"No, I don’t know anything," Judd told People magazine. "I’m heartbroken, and she cut me off a year ago. I’m walking a very interesting walk right now, where I absolutely know very little. As a matter of fact, I learned about it on TikTok."
The country music star described experiencing shock and crying upon seeing the news, adding, "I cried and cried and cried because I have another grandbaby, I think."
Despite their estrangement, Judd conveyed her continued love and support for her daughter, acknowledging Kelley's struggle with meth addiction. "Grace is my love, she is my daughter and I love her dearly. She’s got an addiction to meth, and it’s devastating."
News of Kelley's pregnancy emerged last month, with reports indicating her due date was around August 16. The 30-year-old is currently serving a sentence of one year and three months at the Rockingham County Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia, for pleading guilty to felony driving with a suspended license in June. Her request for temporary release to give birth was denied by a judge.
Kelley previously welcomed her daughter Kaliyah in April 2022 and was granted a leave of absence from jail to give birth at that time. Judd is currently raising Kaliyah, aged 4, on her Tennessee farm.
Kelley has a history of legal issues dating back to 2015. Her recent legal troubles include arrests in April 2024 for indecent exposure, in August 2024 for attempting to flee a police officer, and in October 2024 for allegedly stealing a pastor’s van. Kelley has also spoken about childhood trauma, including alleged sexual abuse by her stepfather and what she described as her mother's cover-up.
Kelley is scheduled for release on November 16, after which she will serve five years of supervised probation.
