Wynonna Judd Denies Being Trump Supporter After Rosie O'Donnell's Claims

Wynonna Judd has publicly refuted claims made by comedian Rosie O'Donnell that Judd is a supporter of former President Donald Trump. Judd, a prominent figure in country music, described O'Donnell's assertion as a "complete assumption" and stated that she identifies as an independent.

In an interview with People, Judd expressed her surprise at O'Donnell's comments, noting that she has "never spoken to her about politics in my life." Judd emphasized that O'Donnell "doesn’t know anything about my stuff" and that any political alignment attributed to her by O'Donnell is unfounded.

Judd stated that she is "not angry" but rather confused by the remarks. She clarified that there was no prior political conversation from which O'Donnell could have drawn such a conclusion.

O'Donnell had previously discussed her friendship with Judd on "The Tangle with Kyle Ridley" podcast, mentioning Judd as a Trump supporter with whom she maintains a relationship by setting politics aside.

"I am friends with Wynonna Judd, who I love very much, and I’ve known her for many, many years. And she is a supporter of Trump. And somehow, we never bring it up," O'Donnell said on the podcast. She also spoke about giving Judd "grace" due to past personal difficulties.

Judd indicated she does not wish to engage in a public dispute over the matter, stating, "I just don’t want drama. So, if there’s going to be drama [about it], I’m like, ‘Oh for crap’s sake, there’s so much going on right now in the world. Can we just love each other?’"

Judd and O'Donnell have a friendship that dates back decades, with Judd appearing on O'Donnell's talk show in the 1990s. O'Donnell has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump for many years.

O'Donnell reportedly moved to Ireland after Trump's 2024 presidential election victory and has continued to comment on American politics.
