Wynonna Judd Calls Kacey Musgraves' Anti-Columbus Rant 'Not the Right Thing'
Country music legend Wynonna Judd declared herself a patriot in response to Kacey Musgraves' public criticism of Christopher Columbus.
Country singer Wynonna Judd has responded to Kacey Musgraves' recent anti-Christopher Columbus remarks, stating that while Musgraves has the right to express her opinion, it is not necessarily the right thing to do.
Musgraves recently called Christopher Columbus "lame" and "a loser" during a concert in Texas. Her comments, made on Columbus Day, drew both praise and criticism.
Judd shared her perspective during an appearance on "Tomi Lahren is Fearless," where she emphasized the role of entertainers. "My job is to be an entertaining person," Judd said. "I never hear from my fans, 'Hey, would you come out and sing [a song] and tell me what your political view is.'"
She added that her grandmother would have disapproved of such public political statements from entertainers. Judd also mentioned that she often considers the philosophy of "what would Dolly [Parton] do" when deciding how to handle public commentary.
Judd stated that she prefers to let her actions speak for her, highlighting her support for military service members as a cause close to her heart. She expressed that it is hurtful when her support for troops is linked to specific political ideologies. "I didn't come here to talk about politics, I came to talk about music," Judd stated. "It's nobody's business what I try to do in my private life."
Despite her reluctance to engage in political discourse on stage, Judd affirmed her national pride. "I'm a patriot," she declared. "I support my servicemen. My son is a deputy. And I am for America. Period."
Judd further elaborated on her stance regarding political figures, saying, "We live in the greatest country in the world. If it was President Biden, I would support him. Because he's the freaking president."
