World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has announced a new strategic content partnership with Bleacher Report, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. This agreement provides Bleacher Report with global rights to distribute highlights across WWE’s flagship programming, including "Monday Night Raw," "Friday Night SmackDown," NXT, and its premium live events.
As part of the collaboration, Bleacher Report will also have a presence at select WWE premium live events. Alex Varga, WWE's executive vice president, stated that the partnership reinforces WWE’s commitment to reaching a global audience. Bennett Spector, general manager of Bleacher Report, noted the passionate and engaged nature of WWE fans, suggesting a strong alignment with Bleacher Report and its platform House of Highlights.
This partnership comes at a time of significant interest in professional wrestling. WWE boasts a substantial social media following, with over 102 million followers on Facebook, 40.1 million on TikTok, 35 million on Instagram, and 13 million on X. The deal also occurs in the context of Warner Bros. Discovery’s ongoing corporate structure adjustments, including the recent settlement with states that challenged the company’s takeover.
Warner Bros. Discovery had previously announced plans to keep TNT Sports and Bleacher Report under Global Networks, separating them from its film and television endeavors. Bleacher Report previously hosted AEW pay-per-views on its streaming platform before discontinuing the service in 2024. Tony Khan, owner of rival promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW), which airs its shows on TNT and TBS, has expressed optimism about potential mergers and has highlighted AEW's growth as a media partner for Warner Bros. Discovery.
