Actor Woody Harrelson, 65, was seen in New York City on Sunday alongside his wife, Laura Louie, 61, in a rare public outing for the couple. They have been together for 39 years and married in 2008.
Harrelson, known for keeping his private life largely out of the spotlight, was observed leaving their hotel with Louie. The couple shares three daughters: Deni, 32, Zoe, 30, and Makani, 20. Louie is described as more reclusive than her husband.
Their last joint red carpet appearance was in 2023 at the premiere of Harrelson's film "Champions," where they were accompanied by two of their daughters. Louie did, however, attend the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in December where director James L. Brooks received a star.
The pair first met in 1987 on the set of Harrelson's sitcom "Cheers." The day after their meeting, Harrelson reportedly hired Louie as his personal assistant. She served in this role for three years before their relationship turned romantic. Harrelson was previously married to writer Nancy Simon from 1985 to 1986.
Harrelson and Louie tied the knot in a private ceremony in Maui, Hawaii. They welcomed their first daughter, Deni, in March 1994, followed by Zoe in September 1996, and their youngest, Makani, in June 2006.
In recent news, Harrelson has also been in the spotlight due to his enduring friendship with actor Matthew McConaughey. The two star together in the new Apple TV+ series "Brothers," which playfully explores a long-standing theory that they might be half-brothers. This speculation arose after McConaughey's mother suggested she knew Harrelson's father around the time of McConaughey's conception. The actors have embraced this narrative for their new show, with Harrelson humorously asserting the possibility while McConaughey expressed hesitation about definitive paternity tests, preferring the ongoing speculation that strengthens their unique bond.
