A California woman is seeking the public's help to identify a man she alleges secretly recorded her in a Nordstrom dressing room at the Cerritos Mall on July 21. Sophia Schades reported that she was changing clothes when she discovered a camera hidden in a black shirt on the floor of an adjacent dressing room.

Upon realizing she might be recorded, Schades confronted the man in the next dressing room. Video footage shared by Schades shows the man, wearing a red shirt and black boots, emerging from the dressing room and attempting to conceal his face with a black shirt. He denied recording her, despite Schades' accusations.

Schades informed Nordstrom employees that she wished to press charges. The Cerritos Sheriff’s Department confirmed to the California Post that a report was filed and a detective has been assigned to the case. However, the man identified by Schades managed to leave the mall before law enforcement arrived. Schades provided a statement to the police.

Following the incident, Schades posted video of the encounter on social media, requesting assistance from users in identifying the man. She later updated her followers, stating she believes she has a name but is awaiting police confirmation to avoid defamation issues. Schades expressed gratitude for the public's help.

In a separate, unverified account shared with Schades, another woman claimed the same individual had exhibited suspicious behavior in fitting rooms at Montclair Plaza about a week prior. This alleged incident involved the man moving in and out of various store fitting rooms.
