An elite unit of the New York City Police Department rescued a woman who was found sitting on a beam of the Brooklyn Bridge with her feet dangling over the side. The incident occurred on July 9, 2026.
Officers spent close to an hour engaged in dialogue with the woman before successfully talking her to safety. The unit that handled the rescue is the same one responsible for apprehending individuals who climbed the Empire State Building.
