Nanci Danison, a lawyer and formerly devout Catholic, has recounted a near-death experience that she says fundamentally altered her understanding of life, death, and the universe. Danison claims that in 1994, her heart stopped during a radiological procedure at a hospital in Ohio, leading her consciousness to leave her body.
She described the experience as moving from total blackness toward a pinpoint of light that surrounded her, bringing with it a feeling of overwhelming, unconditional love and acceptance. This encounter, however, diverged from many commonly reported near-death experiences.
Encounter with 'Source'
Danison stated that she encountered several beings of light, whom she recognized as her eternal friends, communicating telepathically. Following this, she met with what she refers to as 'Source,' an energy presence that is not an entity but rather the consciousness of all existence. According to Danison, Source places its consciousness into every creature and thing in the universe, enabling it to experience existence from the inside out.
"It's not a being of any type. It's not an entity of any type. It's an energy source," Danison explained in an interview. She characterized Source as curious, creative, and unconditionally loving, a description many might associate with God.
Revelations About Existence
Danison reported receiving direct downloads of universal knowledge, or "knowings," from Source. These revelations contradicted many traditional religious teachings. She stated that she learned there is no literal Hell and that the concept of religion is rooted in ancient human speculation. Danison also claimed to have learned that time is an artificial human construct and that mental illness can sometimes be a misinterpretation of behaviors of a supernatural nature.
She believes her soul volunteered for a specific mission on Earth as Nanci Danison, intended to act as a catalyst for others. Her experience, she asserts, deepened as she rejoined Source, gaining access to its memories and knowledge about the universe's creation. Danison described the creation of the physical universe as an act of imagination by Source, expelling energy and establishing universal laws like gravity, akin to a Big Bang within Source's mind. Souls, she claims, were created as characters to experience this self-created dreamscape.
Differentiating Near-Death Experiences
Danison distinguished her experience from many others, calling hers a "going into the afterlife" rather than a near-death experience. She suggested that the majority of reported near-death experiences, approximately 98.5 percent, do not venture beyond the initial threshold of the afterlife. Individuals in these cases often experience love and peace, but interpret these feelings through their pre-existing belief systems, leading them to become more religious.
Danison, who has researched thousands of afterlife experiences, identified only 32 others who she believes encountered Source and learned the same truths about existence. She stated that her journey did not make her more religious but provided her with life-altering information about humanity's purpose on Earth and the nature of universal truth, asserting, "There is no one true religion. There's only truth itself."
