Woman Recalls Terrifying Encounter at Philadelphia Home Linked to 7 Missing Women
A woman describes meeting Raymond and Eugene Horsch in 2012, years before the property became the focus of a grim investigation.
A woman has recounted a chilling encounter from 2012 with Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, a pornographer, and his son, Eugene, inside their Philadelphia home. The residence has since been connected to seven missing or unidentified women.
The woman, who was homeless and struggling with drug addiction at the time, said she met the Horschs in Camden, New Jersey. She later accompanied them to their home, where she used drugs and blacked out. She awoke to find R.C. Horsch standing over her, taking photographs. She described him as a "vile" man who wrote a book titled “Memoir of an Empathetic Serial Killer.”
"I was terrified. I thought he was going to, him and his son Eugene, I thought they were going to kill me," the woman stated, according to WPVI. She managed to escape the home on Chew Avenue, but Eugene Horsch allegedly threatened her weeks later in Camden, saying, "You know I can kill you right and nobody would ever find you."
The woman, now sober for a decade, recognized the pair when news of the investigation into the Philadelphia home broke. She mentioned that other women in the area had warned each other about a man they called "the one-eyed guy."
Authorities found an eye patch, binoculars, camera equipment, and a condom in R.C. Horsch's car in 2009 after he allegedly attempted to abduct a 9-year-old girl. The woman who came forward with her story has since spoken with Philadelphia detectives and discovered that images of her were among more than a million files found in the Horschs' home. These files reportedly include snuff films.
She told investigators about Eugene's threats and whether other girls might have been involved. She also identified herself as having spoken to the mother of Gabrielle Amarando, one of the women linked to the case. The woman provided names of other potential victims and expressed her motivation for speaking out as a desire for justice for other girls.
Philadelphia police have been investigating the home since June, when they uncovered a disturbing scene including dangerous chemicals, weapons, and writings referencing serial killers. Images and video potentially showing the deceased Maribel Frieses and Gabrielle Amarando were found. Other women named in connection with the investigation include Blair Tonzelli, who vanished in 2023, and Amy McHale, Horsch's ex-wife, last seen in 2016. McHale's mother stated her daughter's last known location was the Horsch residence.
R.C. Horsch died last year and is believed to be one of five urns recovered from the property. Eugene Horsch is currently facing firearms charges as the investigation into the missing and unidentified women continues.
