Cassandra Lin is grieving the loss of her brother, Christopher Jenkins, who died on June 18 following complications from an elective surgery intended to address snoring issues. Jenkins, 40, was described by his sister as her "sibling soulmate, my protector, my greatest supporter, my safest place, and the person I loved most in this world."

Ms. Lin shared her profound grief on a GoFundMe page established to support Jenkins' two young children, for whom he was the sole provider. He worked as a commercial funding specialist at Balmain Group. "He went into surgery hoping for something so simple - a better night's sleep," she wrote. "Instead, our family has been left living every loved one's worst nightmare."

Jenkins' death follows a period of intense turmoil for Ms. Lin, whose ex-husband, celebrity dentist Dr. Steven Lin, was shot and killed by police in Sydney approximately three months prior to Jenkins' passing. Dr. Lin, 41, was killed during a standoff with officers after he attacked two women with a knife in Potts Point. This incident marked the culmination of a life that had reportedly spiraled into personal crisis, characterized by a history of stalking, assault, and violations of apprehended violence orders.

According to reports, Dr. Lin's behavior deteriorated following the breakdown of his marriage, amidst allegations of affairs and erratic conduct. Ms. Lin had previously stated in a letter read at her ex-husband's funeral that she had not recovered from discovering the truth about his actions. Dr. Lin had achieved fame as the author of "The Dental Diet" and was a frequent television commentator on dental health and nutrition. However, friends and reports suggest that the pressures of his public profile contributed to a descent into meth addiction, which ultimately led to his fatal encounter with law enforcement.

During his addiction, Dr. Lin was accused of making death threats against his ex-wife and the woman with whom he had another child. Ms. Lin and Dr. Lin had separated by September 2024, when the alleged threats occurred. At that time, Ms. Lin was managing their dental practice and caring for their five children at their home.

Ms. Lin has since found a new relationship with police officer Jay, who contributed $2,500 to the GoFundMe for her brother's children. The fundraiser has garnered over $6,000 in donations.
