Jennifer Pritchard, 47, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a malicious communication offense, following a two-month social media campaign of lies against her ex-husband, South Wales Police officer Stephen Pritchard.

Pritchard created a Facebook page titled "Jen's Justice" to spread false allegations, including that her ex-husband was a "rapist" and a "baby killer." The court heard that she had previously been prosecuted for perverting the course of justice with similar falsehoods about him.

In a victim impact statement, Sgt. Pritchard described the campaign as "false and malicious," stating it aimed to ruin his career and had resulted in anxiety, depression, and other health issues. He also noted significant financial strain due to legal costs and an investigation by his own police force.

The court was informed of Pritchard's prior convictions, including harassment against another ex-husband in January 2025 and a conviction for causing annoyance via telecommunications system to a different police officer later that year. The judge, Recorder Andrew Hammond, expressed doubt about Pritchard's remorse, stating she appeared to "derive satisfaction from the harm you cause" and posed a high risk of harm to ex-husbands and police officers.

Pritchard was also issued an indefinite restraining order prohibiting her from contacting her ex-husband. Her defense attorney indicated a "realistic prospect of rehabilitation," but the judge was not convinced of genuine remorse based on her history of false accusations.
