A woman was taken to a hospital after she was allegedly raped in a park in broad daylight on Monday, June 29. West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the Priory Woods area of Sandwell Valley Country Park between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on that date.
Officers found the injured victim in the park around 10:15 a.m. She has since been discharged from the hospital and is receiving support from specially trained officers. Following initial inquiries, police believe the woman was raped during the incident.
Detective Inspector Phil Griffiths stated that officers have been reviewing CCTV footage, examining forensic evidence, and speaking with potential witnesses over the past three weeks. Neighborhood officers have patrolled the area, and specialist officers plan to revisit the park to gather further information. Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious or has relevant information to contact them by calling 101 and referencing incident number 20/304639/26.
