A 27-year-old woman was discovered beaten to death Sunday inside a Manhattan apartment, where a young child had been left alone with her body for an unknown length of time, according to police sources.

The NYPD responded to a wellness check at 535 West 156th Street near Amsterdam Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m. in Washington Heights. Officers found the woman deceased inside the apartment along with a 5-year-old child, who was unharmed, authorities said.

The victim's face and neck showed signs of severe trauma, according to the NYPD.

The incident is believed to be domestic in nature, and the suspect is still at large, sources told The Post. The relationship between the victim and the alleged assailant was not immediately clear.

The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
