A 24-year-old woman was found fatally shot in the neck inside her Brooklyn home late Tuesday, an incident authorities are investigating as a potential domestic dispute.
Tatiana Pettus was discovered with a mortal gunshot wound in a bedroom when officers responded to a 911 call at her apartment building on Foster Avenue near East 29th Street in Flatbush. Police were alerted to the scene around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Pettus was transported to Kings County Hospital Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Law enforcement sources indicated that the shooting appeared to be an act of domestic violence. The exact relationship between Pettus and the individual believed to be responsible for her death remains under investigation, as does the identity of the person who made the 911 call. Police stated that they had no record of prior domestic incidents involving the victim.
