Woman Faces Debt and Home Loss After Alleged Boss's Fraud

Nicky Oakley believed her employer, James Kenny, was a trustworthy colleague. However, his alleged fraudulent activities have resulted in Oakley accumulating £250,000 in debt and facing the potential loss of her family home.

Oakley recounted that Kenny presented himself as a likeable and charismatic individual. He offered her the position of director of operations with a salary of approximately £50,000. She accepted the role, stating, "Ironically, I was actually glad to work with someone I liked and trusted again." She also noted that Kenny claimed to have had a business partner years prior who had been convicted of fraud, which he used as an explanation for fraud checks.

Oakley is aware of at least four other women who allege they have lost thousands of pounds due to Kenny's alleged scams. The full extent of Kenny's alleged financial misconduct and its impact on his employees and others remains under investigation.

When Kenny offered her the role of director of operations with a salary of around £50,000, Nicky 'couldn't resist the opportunity'. ‘Ironically, I was actually glad to work with someone I liked and trusted again,’ she says.
