Aubrey Birrell recounted a peculiar incident last week after checking into an Airbnb in San Diego for a Fourth of July holiday. While exploring the rental property, Birrell and her family noticed a portrait on the wall that appeared to feature her relatives.
In a video posted to TikTok, Birrell explained that her father was the first to point out the resemblance. Upon closer inspection, she identified her father, her sister Libby, and her brother Brady in the beach scene. Birrell stated that the photo was taken approximately 10 years prior and that her family had never stayed at the Airbnb before, leaving her unsure how the image came to be displayed there.
"The weirdest thing happened. It's unsettling," Birrell said in the video, which has since gained over 679,000 views. She emphasized that she and her sister still possess the swimsuits visible in the photograph. "We're literally in this picture. We're on the Airbnb wall. This can't be real. We're spiraling."
The discovery sparked a variety of reactions online, with some viewers suggesting the host might be playing a prank and others proposing it was a remarkable coincidence. Many users expressed a sense of unease, with comments likening the situation to the beginning of a horror movie or an episode of the television series Black Mirror.
