Woman Dies in Fall from London Tower Block Months After Family Tragedy

A woman in her twenties has died after falling from a luxury tower block in south London, months after a family of three plummeted to their deaths from the same building.

Metropolitan Police were called to the UNCLE building in Elephant and Castle at approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 1, responding to reports of a fall from height. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene in Churchyard Row, where a woman, believed to be in her twenties, was found unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious, and police are working to inform the woman's next of kin. A scene remains in place while investigations continue.

This death follows a similar tragedy on May 27, when a couple and their nine-year-old son fell from their 36th-floor apartment in the same building, also known as Highpoint. Rakesh Pai, 47, his wife Aditi Paralkar, 46, and their son Sid died in the incident. An inquest into their deaths was opened on July 8.

Friends of the couple indicated that Aditi Paralkar had been experiencing depression and other mental health issues due to her son Sid's terminal illness. Sid, who was born in the UK, had multiple health challenges, including being unable to speak, partial handicaps, learning difficulties, and kidney disease. He was homeschooled, with his mother taking primary responsibility for his education. Reports suggest the couple were devastated after Sid was reportedly denied medical treatment and discharged from the hospital.

The family, originally from India with no family in the UK, had lived in India for approximately six years to seek specialized medical help for Sid and for Aditi to have support from her family in Mumbai. They returned to the UK last year after doctors in India were unable to improve Sid's condition.

Rakesh Pai worked as a project manager for major banks, and Aditi Paralkar held senior roles in the construction industry. The couple had previously lived in Clapham and were planning to convert two flats there into a family home. At the time of their deaths, they were temporarily staying in the Elephant and Castle building, where two-bedroom apartments can cost up to £3,800 per month.
