Woman Dies, Baby Critically Injured in Alleged Bronx Fall
Authorities are investigating an incident where a woman died and a baby was critically injured after allegedly being thrown from a Bronx apartment balcony.
A woman died and a baby was left in critical condition early Tuesday morning following an incident where they were allegedly thrown from the balcony of an apartment building in the Bronx. The New York Police Department responded to 2550 Olinville Avenue at approximately 3:38 a.m. where they discovered the two individuals on the ground.
Both victims sustained injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position and were transported to Jacobi Hospital. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. The baby remains in critical condition.
Witnesses told responding officers that one of the victims was an infant and that both the woman and the child were thrown from a balcony. The relationship between the woman and the child has not been disclosed, and authorities have not released details regarding who may have allegedly thrown them from the building.
NYPD officers were observed entering the 18-story apartment complex as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
