Woman Captured on CCTV Appearing to Steal Table Lamp from Derbyshire Bar

A woman has been recorded on security camera footage appearing to take a table lamp from Krak Matlock, a bar in Derbyshire. The bar shared the video online, which has garnered millions of views, in an effort to identify the customer and retrieve the stolen item.

The footage shows a woman glancing around before removing the lamp from a table and placing it into her bag. She then appears to resume a conversation with companions.

A spokesperson for Krak Matlock stated, "Seems we’ve lost one of our new table lamps. Whilst on the hunt to find it we came across this footage of a lovely lady Misplacing it!!" The bar is seeking assistance to contact the individual to recover the lamp, as one of their tables is now in darkness.

The bar described the incident on social media, asking for help to identify the woman. "Please message our page with her name so we could contact her or even better please could you drop us a message to let us know when we can receive our property!"

She discretely shoves the lamp into her bag before nonchalantly returning to her conversation with two other customers opposite

Comments on the shared video included lighthearted remarks such as "That’s what you call a light touch" and "Good that this place is shining a light on this situation."

Krak Matlock, located on Dale Road in Matlock, opened in August and offers a selection of drinks. It is described as a European-style venue with a German theme.

This incident echoes a similar event from two years prior at Campo Blanco, a restaurant in Whitefield, Greater Manchester. CCTV footage there also appeared to show a diner taking a small battery-powered table light. The restaurant posted on social media at the time, urging the return of the lights and humorously referencing Santa Claus and the police.

Krak Matlock opened its doors in August and serves drinks including Schofferhofer grapefruit wheat beer, Budvar, Pardal and Brinkhoff’s
