Woman at center of AFL scandal involved in nightclub confrontation

A woman at the heart of a recent Sydney Swans scandal became involved in a dramatic late-night confrontation at a Melbourne nightclub, claiming she was denied entry because Hawthorn players were present. The incident occurred at Electric Bar on Chapel Street on Sunday evening.

Witnesses claim the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, threatened to call "60 Minutes" and blamed Hawthorn stars for her being barred from the venue, where she had planned to celebrate her birthday with friends. The Mail has independently verified that several AFL footballers were indeed at the venue on Sunday.

However, representatives for Electric Bar stated that there is "nothing to indicate" that anyone inside the venue prevented the woman from entering. The club acknowledged that players were present at the establishment on Sunday evening.

This incident follows a controversy last month where several Sydney Swans players, including Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, and James Jordan, were stood down by the club. The disciplinary action was taken after the club determined the players had breached its standards by staying out late, consuming alcohol, and bringing women back to their hotel. Player exit meetings were subsequently held at Sydney Swans HQ.
