Woman Arrested for Alleged Indecent Exposure on American Airlines Flight
A passenger allegedly exposed herself and masturbated on a flight from Baltimore to Miami, according to a sheriff's report.
A 46-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly engaging in lewd behavior on an American Airlines flight in September. Katy Inzer was on a flight from Baltimore to Miami when she reportedly removed her pants and began to masturbate.
A fellow passenger alerted a flight attendant to Inzer's actions, describing her as making "inappropriate sounds." According to a report filed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Inzer ceased the activity when approached by the flight attendant, put her pants back on, and then slept for the remainder of the flight.
Upon landing in Miami, authorities noted that Inzer had a strong odor of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. She reportedly told officers she did not recall the incident because she had fallen asleep.
The case was initially forwarded to the FBI due to jurisdictional questions regarding the alleged offense. The U.S. Department of Transportation advises passengers who witness sexual misconduct on a plane to report it immediately to the flight crew or law enforcement.
Last year, the FBI reported investigating 104 incidents of sexual assault and misconduct aboard commercial aircraft. In a separate incident shortly before Inzer's alleged behavior, a United Airlines passenger claimed she was seated next to a man who was masturbating on a flight from Rochester to Newark.
