A woman was arrested at Miami International Airport on Friday after allegedly stripping naked and performing lewd acts on an American Airlines flight. The incident occurred on Flight 1779, which had departed from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

According to a report citing an Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) message, the lead flight attendant reported that a passenger in seat 9D became undressed and engaged in indecent acts in front of other passengers. The ACARS message indicated that the incident should be reported to American Airlines' Integrated Operations Center and that law enforcement should be requested.

Officers were present at the gate when the plane landed and took the passenger into custody. The report of the incident was logged on Saturday. Flight attendants have the authority to restrain passengers who pose a threat to others for safety reasons, though it is unclear if this occurred in this instance.

This event follows another disruptive incident on an American Airlines flight just days earlier. On September 6, a passenger named Layne Arthur Lundeen, 67, was taken into custody after allegedly engaging in a homophobic and racist rant on a flight from Dallas to Newark. Fellow passengers reportedly had to duct-tape Lundeen, who witnesses said appeared intoxicated, after he began yelling at a passenger and then directed racial slurs and homophobic remarks at a flight attendant. Lundeen also allegedly pushed a female passenger and attempted to bite male passengers who intervened. Flight attendants provided duct tape to restrain Lundeen, securing him to his seat. American Airlines confirmed the earlier flight was diverted due to a "disruptive customer" and stated that the safety and security of its customers and team members is a top priority, with no tolerance for violence.
