Katie Linin, 23, appeared in Southampton Magistrates' Court on August 12, 2026, facing a charge of murder.

Linin spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth during the brief hearing. The court's legal advisor informed her that the charge of murdering Craig Mintram, 45, was an indictable offense that could only be tried at the Crown Court. Mr. Mintram was pronounced dead in the early hours of Sunday, August 9, at a block of flats in Southampton.

Linin, who is from Bournemouth in Dorset, was remanded into custody by Chairman of the bench Spencer Shaw. She is scheduled to appear at Southampton Crown Court on August 13.

Hampshire Constabulary stated that the charge follows a reported assault of a man at an address on Weston Lane, Southampton, at 4:21 a.m. on Sunday. Officers attended the property, but Mr. Mintram was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified and is being supported by specially trained officers.

Linin was remanded into custody to appear before Southampton Crown Court tomorrow

A 54-year-old man from Southampton was initially arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released from custody without further action.
