Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington publicly accused her ex-girlfriend, Las Vegas Aces forward NaLyssa Smith, of cheating with multiple players in a social media post on Threads. Carrington named Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye, along with others, in her accusations.
Carrington and Smith, who began dating at Baylor University, remained together after reaching the WNBA. They were briefly teammates on the Dallas Wings during the 2025 season before Smith was traded to the Aces. When the couple confirmed their breakup later that year, Carrington stated they had "grew in different directions."
Smith, Kelly, and Nye have not yet publicly responded to Carrington's allegations. Carrington is scheduled to face Smith and Kelly on August 1 when the Sky host the Aces. The Sky will also play Nye and the Dream on September 19.
This incident comes amidst broader discussion surrounding the WNBA, including controversial commentary from USA Today columnist Nancy Armour, who reportedly claimed that Caitlin Clark's fans are "white nationalists" and that Clark should apologize for her fanbase. Armour also reportedly invoked the 1955 murder of Emmett Till in her commentary.
