Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA player who has become a vocal figure in discussions surrounding WNBA transgender policies, has been banned from Chicago's Wintrust Arena after an on-court altercation with Chicago Sky player Natasha Cloud. The incident occurred during a game between the Sky and the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Chicago Sky owner Michael Alter stated that Freedom was removed from the premises and will not be permitted back unless he can demonstrate an ability to adhere to the arena's rules without posing a potential threat. Alter characterized Freedom's presence as an attempt to be provocative and gain attention.

Freedom, who wore a shirt reading "WOMAN noun. adult human female.," claimed he was supporting Indiana's Sophie Cunningham, who had spoken out about protecting women's sports from biological men. However, Alter stated that security personnel confirmed the exchange began with Freedom "chirping" at Cloud during the third quarter. Alter described the interaction as basketball-related trash-talking, intended to provoke Cloud.

"He portrays as this victimless person who did nothing, said nothing. Just wearing a t-shirt … We have five different security authorities that all agreed very quickly to throw him out because he made himself into a threat," Alter told Front Office Sports.

Freedom and former Rockets player Royce White have inserted themselves into the debate over WNBA eligibility for transgender athletes, having declared themselves women and sought entry into the league's draft. Reports indicate the WNBA is not considering their eligibility, though Freedom stated he had not received official word from the league, calling such reports "Fake News!"
