A parent in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, has been cited after running onto the field during a U-10 youth football game and tripping a 9-year-old player who was on his way to scoring a touchdown. The incident occurred last Saturday.

According to reports, the man ran onto the field and stuck his leg out, tripping the child as he approached the pylon. Mount Pleasant police located the parent, who admitted he was wrong and was cooperative with authorities, receiving a citation for disorderly conduct.

Caitlin Ocampo, who provided video of the incident, captured the moment the child was brought down.

The coach of the tripped player's team, the Case Eagles, Channing Schultz, told FOX 6 that the parent intended to harm the child. "He was so committed and determined to hurt – he wanted to hurt him. He had nothing but intent," Schultz said.

The parent who tripped the child is reportedly the father of a player on the opposing team, the Milwaukee Colts. The Colts have since banned the parent from attending future games, according to Schultz.

Schultz added that the 9-year-old player is doing well after the incident. "He's a tough kid, he is doing fine," Schultz stated, describing the player as hardworking and talented.

The Case Eagles are scheduled to play the Milwaukee Colts again in two weeks.
