Willie and Korie Robertson, stars of the reality television series "Duck Dynasty," have shared the faith-based principles that have underpinned their 34-year marriage and business ventures. The couple, married since 1992, attributes their enduring partnership to a shared commitment to biblical values, a common purpose, and a dedication to maintaining alignment in their personal and professional lives.
"I think Korie and I pull back to our faith, which is very important," Willie Robertson told Fox News Digital. "We believe in something bigger than us." He elaborated that core tenets of their faith, such as love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness, are actively implemented in their marriage. The couple consciously observed both successful and unsuccessful relationships, drawing lessons from their families and communities to emulate positive practices and avoid pitfalls that can lead to marital discord.
"Not going to bed while you're angry. I mean, these are just things that you put into your life and say, ‘Oh, this is helpful,’" Willie said, highlighting simple habits they employ to stay connected. Korie Robertson emphasized that their faith informs every aspect of their lives, from parenting to their roles as husband and wife and business partners.
This shared foundation has also fueled their latest joint venture, EKKL Entertainment, a faith-and-family media platform. Korie stated that their mission is to spread the love of Jesus, and they see entertainment as a significant avenue to achieve this. "For us, for our family, it is through entertainment and God has kind of put us in this position to get to do it," she explained.
The Robertsons acknowledged their disparate upbringings—Willie from a rural, impoverished background and Korie from a more affluent, suburban environment. Despite these differences, they found common ground in the core values emphasized by their families, including faith, hospitality, and kindness.
"When you bring that together, it's powerful," Willie said of their contrasting experiences. He noted that his perspective as a "country person, poor people" complemented Korie's background in business and retail, leading to fewer "blind spots" in their decision-making.
An example of their complementary strengths was demonstrated during a major ice storm in Louisiana in late January 2026, which left many without power. While Willie's practical survival skills were essential, Korie's business acumen was crucial for navigating insurance claims and legal contracts in the aftermath.
The inspiration for EKKL Entertainment stemmed from observing the impact of media on their own children and grandchildren. Korie explained that realizing how deeply entertainment influences young minds prompted them to create a platform offering trusted movies, TV shows, podcasts, children's content, and devotionals as a safe space for families.
Willie expressed a belief that Hollywood has underestimated the demand for faith-and family-centered storytelling. "I think when you're talking about faith and you're a family — those are things that bring us back together," he said. Korie added that while there is room for such content, the perception that success requires sensationalism or explicit material may be misplaced, suggesting that offering positive alternatives could reveal a strong audience preference.
