Actor Will Forte recently detailed an awkward but important personal hygiene practice on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” focusing on thorough tick checks during peak season. Forte, 56, shared advice he received from a family member of fellow comedian Seth Meyers: "You've got to make sure you're checking your B and B too." He clarified that "B and B" refers to "balls and butthole," a reminder of where ticks, which he described as "super perverted, sexually deviant insects," tend to hide.
Forte explained that ticks are drawn to warm, hidden creases such as the groin, underarms, belly button, and behind the knees, comparing these areas to a "rave" for the arachnids. He emphasized the importance of quick checks after spending time outdoors to prevent dangerous infections like Lyme disease, noting that tick-related emergency room visits have increased by over 25% nationwide.
However, Forte encountered a personal challenge when attempting to perform the recommended self-inspection. "I'm getting older," he told Fallon, citing reduced flexibility and eyesight as obstacles. He considered asking Meyers or his wife, Olivia Modling, for assistance, but his wife declined. Despite the social awkwardness, Forte was determined to check himself thoroughly.
To demonstrate his method, Forte enacted a physical comedy routine on the show. He described a process of contorting himself, bending his knees with his legs in the air, and using a mirror to examine the "base of the balls to the far end of the butthole." He admitted to "star[ing] into that abyss for a while," but still felt uncertain about his ability to detect any hidden ticks.
Health guidelines recommend a full-body tick check after returning indoors from potentially infested areas. It is also advised to check clothing, gear, and pets. Washing clothes in hot water and showering or bathing within two hours of coming inside can further help remove ticks.
