Cassandra Lin is mourning the recent death of her grandmother, Rhona Francis Jenkins, marking the third significant family tragedy in approximately six months. This loss follows the death of her brother, Christopher Jenkins, and the shooting death of her husband, celebrity dentist Dr. Steven Lin.
Ms. Lin revealed her grandmother's passing on Instagram, noting that Mrs. Jenkins was 96 years old. She expressed comfort in imagining her grandmother reunited with her brother in the afterlife, stating, "I hope they’re finding peace and comfort together as they begin this new journey."
Ms. Lin described her grandmother as a source of inspiration, attributing her entrepreneurial spirit to Mrs. Jenkins. She shared, "I admired her deeply. I treasured her words of wisdom, her honest truths, her pep talks, and the way she always encouraged me to keep going."
Her brother, Christopher Jenkins, a two-time Mr. Australia champion bodybuilder, died in June following complications from an elective ear, nose, and throat operation. Ms. Lin had previously spoken of her reliance on her brother, calling him "my protector, my safest place."
Dr. Steven Lin, a prominent Australian dental nutritionist and author of "The Dental Diet," was shot and killed by police on March 3. Authorities responded to a disturbance where Dr. Lin had allegedly entered an apartment block, stabbed one woman in the face, and attacked another before barricading himself. When police attempted to use a Taser, Dr. Lin lunged at them with a knife, prompting an officer to fire his weapon.
Prior to his death, Dr. Lin's life had reportedly spiraled due to methamphetamine use and legal troubles. He had faced accusations of assault and theft, and had multiple breaches of bail and restraining orders recorded. In 2024, he was found in a disheveled state in the backyard of a brothel. Ten months before his death, he was arrested for violently assaulting a man with a metal pole and attempting to conceal himself in a backyard.
Cassandra Lin had previously shared that her marriage to Dr. Lin, with whom she co-owned the Helix Dentistry chain, involved both joy and significant pain, including "affairs, the secrets, the abuse." She vowed to care for their five children, stating, "I promise I will take care of our children with everything I have."
