Widow Discovers Husband's Infidelity After His Death, Seeks Revenge

Jessica Waite was a widow at 44, a state she described as a hell she never anticipated. The devastating reality of her husband Sean's infidelity, revealed after his sudden death, compounded her grief with a searing sense of betrayal. "Holding my nine-year-old son's hand as we led the procession into his father's funeral on a cold November day is a memory I will never forget," Waite wrote, reflecting on the profound loss and the unexpected discovery that followed.

Waite met her husband, Sean, in 1995 when they were both teaching English in Japan in their early twenties. They married and had a son together. At 47, Sean was still young and fit, and had undergone a full medical exam not long before his shock death. Waite discovered her husband had been cheating on her when he died. "Eleven years on from his death, I don’t think forgiveness equates to letting him off the hook. It’s more about securing my own peace," she stated.

Blinded by rage and grief, Waite sought revenge on one of his lovers. This experience, and her journey through widowhood and betrayal, is chronicled in her book, "The Widow’s Guide to Dead Bastards." Waite described the writing process as "perhaps the most cathartic part of the whole process."
