Whoopi Goldberg Predicts Prince Harry Will Reconcile With Royal Family

Whoopi Goldberg, a friend of Prince Harry, has expressed optimism about his relationship with the British royal family, predicting a "peaceful reconciliation" with his estranged brother, Prince William. Goldberg stated on "The View" that she believes the Duke of Sussex is sincere in his desire to mend the rift with his family, a sentiment he articulated in a recent interview with GQ magazine.

Discussing Harry's public remarks about the family tensions, Goldberg questioned whether airing grievances in the media would help repair the damage. "I don't know that this particular interview will help mend fences," she said, "But I do believe he would like to."

Her co-host, Sara Haines, echoed the hope for reconciliation, suggesting that the bond between the brothers reflects the enduring influence of their late mother, Princess Diana. Goldberg went further, forecasting that the brothers would eventually make peace.

Sunny Hostin, another co-host, noted that a warm reception received by Harry and Meghan Markle during recent public engagements in Nottingham indicated that the couple still holds support in Britain, particularly among "women of colour." Hostin, who has previously spoken about experiencing "abject racism" in the UK, characterized the welcome as a "step in the right direction" following years of criticism after "Megxit."

Hostin also suggested that Harry and Meghan's return to the UK could foster closer ties with the wider royal family, enabling their children to be closer to relatives and British culture. She speculated that Harry's public declarations of wanting reconciliation might be an attempt to ensure his family hears his intentions, particularly given the current global turmoil.

Prince Harry himself spoke to GQ, stating, "I want it to work out. Of course I do," while also alluding to the possibility that "some people don't want it to work out." He described reconciliation as a "key point" amidst global unrest and admitted to grieving the loss of his relationship with William. This occurred after the Sussexes' first public appearance in the UK since returning to live in Britain, where they were greeted by cheering crowds.

However, "The View" co-host Ana Navarro advised Harry to address family grievances privately rather than through public interviews. Navarro suggested that significant progress in rebuilding trust requires private conversations, as public airing of "dirty laundry" can exacerbate the situation. She recommended that Harry should privately communicate with William to foster a more effective resolution.

Fellow panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin posited that King Charles's health might be influencing Harry's perspective on family relationships, emphasizing the finite nature of time with loved ones.

The rift between the royal brothers has been a persistent subject of media attention since the Sussexes' 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. In that interview, Meghan Markle made allegations of racist concerns regarding their son Archie's skin tone before his birth and disclosed her struggles with suicidal thoughts while within the monarchy. Subsequent revelations in the 2022 Netflix documentary "Harry & Meghan" and Harry's 2023 memoir "Spare," where he detailed a physical confrontation with William, further intensified public speculation about the future of their relationship.
