The White House has reportedly tapped conservative commentator Katie Zacharia to serve as the next press secretary. Zacharia would succeed Karoline Leavitt in the position.
It is not yet clear whether Zacharia has accepted the offer. Zacharia currently works as a communications adviser at Trump Media and Technology Group, the company behind President Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social. She previously held a role as a spokesperson at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for former Secretary Kristi Noem. Zacharia is also a frequent presence on conservative media outlets such as Fox News and Newsmax.
The New York Times first reported that Zacharia had been tapped for the role.
