White House Slams Chuck Lorre for Remarks on Trump, First Lady
The president's 'derangement syndrome' is 'rotting his peanut-sized brain,' the White House spokesperson stated.
The White House issued a strong rebuke to television producer Chuck Lorre after he delivered a speech at the Project Angel Food Awards in Los Angeles that included profanity-laced insults directed at President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump. Lorre, known for creating sitcoms such as "The Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men," also referred to the president as a "Russian asset."
In response to Lorre's remarks, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle stated, "Chuck Lorre should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted his peanut-sized brain." Lorre had also disparaged the first lady, calling her "a surgically enhanced, cold-hearted Yugoslavian escort who clearly hates her husband."
Lorre made the comments during his acceptance speech at the charity gala, where his foundation was being honored for a significant contribution. He acknowledged his "need to cause laughter" as the impetus for his political commentary during the event. He also drew a comparison between Melania Trump and former first lady Michelle Obama, questioning how the country could embrace Obama while accepting Melania Trump.
Christian Toto, founder and editor of Hollywood in Toto, commented on Lorre's statements, suggesting they highlighted a double standard in Hollywood's treatment of public figures. "Generally speaking, we don't attack first ladies. It's just sort of an unspoken rule," Toto told Fox News Digital. "But when it comes to First Lady Melania Trump, they go there, they go there a lot."
Toto further criticized Lorre's comparison of the first lady to an escort as "factually incorrect" and "cruel," especially given Hollywood's public stance on treating women better. He also suggested that if a conservative figure had made similar remarks about a prominent Democratic woman, the reaction would be more intense.
Lorre's speech also touched on domestic politics, urging the Democratic National Committee to distance itself from "suicidal insanity of the far-left woke culture." He also referenced Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s views on vaccines.
He concluded his remarks with a modified version of the Serenity Prayer, stating, "God, grant me the serenity to no longer give a sh-- about all the stupid people in this country, the courage to say Donald Trump is a Russian asset who traded teenagers with Jeffrey Epstein, and the wisdom to end on a cheap laugh."
