The White House has removed an online arcade game titled "Build the Wall" from its official website, following a public statement from The Tetris Company criticizing its political message and hinting at potential copyright infringement.
The game, which allowed users to stack blocks to construct a wall, disappeared from the site after The Tetris Company stated on social media that it was not involved in the game's creation and opposed its underlying politics.
"At Tetris, we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together, not dividing them," the company wrote in its statement. The company also added, "P.P.S. We take copyright infringement very seriously."
The Tetris Company's public distancing marks the latest instance of a company opposing the Trump administration's use of copyrighted material for political promotion. The company's statement, particularly its mention of copyright infringement, alluded to possible legal action.
