White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia is "transitioning out" of her role, according to multiple sources and a senior White House official who spoke to ABC News on Friday. President Donald Trump told reporters Friday that he had asked Zacharia to reconsider whether she wants to remain in the position.
"I said to her, 'Honestly, if I were you, I'd reconsider. You think about it, but I would reconsider,'" Trump said. He also stated, "Katie, you know, you don't have to do this if you don't want." Zacharia reportedly responded that the job is "a lot tougher." Trump replied, "Welcome to the world of Trump."
Zacharia began her tenure as press secretary on Monday.
