White House Asks Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle to Resign
The request comes after allegations that Guilfoyle asked a political donor to cover a $100,000 personal credit card bill.

The White House's new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, announced Tuesday that President Donald Trump has requested the resignation of Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle. Zacharia, in her first press briefing, stated that Guilfoyle had been asked to step down, effective immediately.
"We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign. She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well," Zacharia told reporters in a brief statement.
The announcement follows a series of negative press reports concerning Guilfoyle. Most recently, allegations surfaced that she had asked a political donor to pay a $100,000 personal American Express bill. Trump had previously indicated he was considering her dismissal in light of these claims.
Guilfoyle, a former prosecutor and television personality, was engaged to Donald Trump Jr. before their engagement ended last year. The Senate confirmed her appointment as the U.S. representative to Greece shortly before the dissolution of their engagement.
Prior to her role in Greece, Guilfoyle was married to California Governor Gavin Newsom, a potential Democratic presidential contender in 2028. Guilfoyle has also reportedly gained a reputation for lavish living and frequent socializing in Athens during her tenure as Trump's representative in the region.
