West Elm has partnered with the popular New York City Jewish eatery Russ & Daughters to launch a new dinnerware collection. The line, which features items inspired by Jewish traditions and holidays, is being released in anticipation of Rosh Hashanah.
The collection includes a variety of home goods, such as a painted latke platter, a pickle trinket tray, classic linens, decor, table settings, and menorahs. According to a statement from Day Kornbluth, president of West Elm, the partnership aims to celebrate the traditions and sense of connection that occur around the table.
"Russ & Daughters has spent more than 100 years creating experiences that bring people together," Kornbluth said. "What makes this partnership so special is that it goes beyond product. It celebrates the traditions and sense of connection that happen around the table."
She added that Russ & Daughters holds a unique place in New York culture, and West Elm saw an opportunity to translate that spirit into the home in a way that is "joyful and relevant today."
Niki Russ Federman and Josh Russ Tupper, co-owners of Russ & Daughters, stated that the collection was designed to honor tradition while allowing for personal interpretation. "Many of the customs and objects that inspire us have been passed down across generations, but they continue to evolve," they said. "This partnership reflects that ongoing conversation in a way that feels welcoming, joyful and true to who we are."
In addition to the ceramic products, the collaboration also includes new recipes. The collection features a stoneware plate with hand-painted latkes, a ceramic trinket tray designed to hold pickles, and stoneware salad plates with a small fish sketch. A stoneware menorah is also available, as is a wooden challah cutting board with bagel and challah etchings. Other items include a ceramic matchbox with a challah sketch and a mini tray for keys and jewelry.
An entertaining set is also part of the collection, which includes stoneware dinner plates, stoneware salad plates, napkins, a table runner, ceramic taper holders, a ceramic fish serving platter, ceramic dip bowls, grooved stem all-purpose wine glasses, and Sidney flatware in satin.
