Wellness influencer Alena Hennessy has died at the age of 49 following a private struggle with terminal cancer. Hennessy, who was based in Asheville, North Carolina, passed away earlier this month, her family announced.

Her family shared a statement on Hennessy's Instagram account, revealing she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June 2026 and given a prognosis of only two months to live. The statement noted that she "passed away peacefully" and that "as her journey unfolded quickly, she asked for as much privacy as possible, and she chose her path toward crossing over as intentionally as she lived her life, with deep reverence, love, and awe."

A memorial service is scheduled for the spring of 2027 to allow for the participation of Hennessy's "beloved worldwide community." Her family requested patience as they make arrangements, emphasizing that "her light, life and legacy deserves." They invited followers to engage with Hennessy's "magnificent world of creative beauty" as a way to feel closer to her.

Followers expressed their grief in the comments section, with one user recalling reaching out to Hennessy for advice a month prior, unaware of her diagnosis, and noting Hennessy's kind response.
