Wayne Rooney Undergoes Transformation, Embraces New Look

Wayne Rooney is continuing his personal transformation with the recent addition of Invisalign braces. The former footballer was seen wearing the clear aligners during an appearance on ITV's This Morning.

This orthodontic treatment marks the latest step in Rooney's ongoing efforts to improve his appearance and health. He recently revealed to the Daily Mail that he has been focused on weight loss and has undergone a nose job. Rooney stated on This Morning that he "feels great," attributing his new look to diligent work in the gym and lifestyle changes, rather than rumored weight loss injections.

"I feel great, I haven't drank for a while. I just wanted to feel healthier and be healthier so I've changed my eating habits and training," Rooney told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley. He clarified, "Everyone's saying I'm on this pen thing. but I'm not, I've been working out to try and look better and be healthier."

Since pivoting from football management to roles in punditry, podcasting, and television, Rooney has prioritized his health and family life. "I've found more balance," he admitted, noting that this shift has helped him achieve "a much better place." He explained that after retiring from playing, he experienced a period of drinking heavily and lacking a consistent training routine, prompting a desire to be more present for his children and wife, Coleen.

Coleen Rooney commented on the positive impact of his transformation, stating it has made a "massive difference" to their family unit, allowing them to plan activities together rather than her planning around his absence.

During his television appearance, Rooney was also teased about potential participation in this year's "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here." When asked about the rumors, he remained coy, responding, "I've been asked all the time... wait and see." His wife, Coleen, was a runner-up on the show in 2024.

The couple's new Disney+ series, "The Real Rooneys," offers a look into their family life with their four sons. Ahead of the show's release, Rooney discussed his makeover with the Daily Mail, revealing that his wife encouraged him to undergo the nose surgery. He explained that he had the procedure to correct a nose that was broken twice during his playing career, leading to breathing difficulties.

"I tried to get him to do it because of his snoring," Coleen Rooney added. Wayne clarified, "I couldn't blow one side out of my nose and so I had it fixed."

Rooney previously shared details about the nose surgery in August, stating he had an operation to fix his nose after breaking it twice, once in 2015 during an FA Cup game for Manchester United against Preston North End, and again while playing for DC United. He described feeling "a little bit uncomfortable" post-surgery and noted the presence of plastic tubes in his nostrils, which aid in the healing process by keeping the nostrils open.
