Wayne Rooney is furthering his personal transformation with the recent addition of Invisalign braces, visible during his appearance on ITV's 'This Morning'. The orthodontic treatment marks the latest step in a broader effort by the former footballer to enhance his well-being, which he detailed alongside his wife, Coleen Rooney, while promoting their new Disney+ series.

Rooney clarified that his revitalized appearance is not due to weight-loss injections, a rumor that has circulated. Instead, he attributed his current state to dedicated work in the gym and significant lifestyle adjustments. "I feel great, I haven't drank for a while. I just wanted to feel healthier and be healthier so I've changed my eating habits and training," Rooney told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley. He reiterated that his focus has been on physical activity and dietary changes rather than unspecified "pen things."

This shift in focus towards health and family life has coincided with Rooney's career transition away from football management towards punditry, podcasting, and television work. He described finding a better balance, which has helped him return to a more positive state. Rooney admitted to previously falling into a "rut" after retiring from playing, involving excessive drinking and a lack of consistent training routines. He expressed a desire to be more present for his children and wife.

Coleen Rooney corroborated this change, noting that Wayne's increased involvement has made a significant difference in their family dynamic, allowing for more unified planning. "All my life I've planned everything with Wayne out of it, and if he's there it's a bonus whereas now as a family unit we can plan together. It's just nice to share the load," she stated.

During the television appearance, Rooney also addressed speculation about his potential participation in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', a show his wife Coleen competed in during the 2024 series. When teased about being camera-ready, Rooney remained coy, responding, "I've been asked all the time... wait and see."

Rooney also discussed a recent nose job, revealing that his wife encouraged the procedure. He explained that he had broken his nose twice during his football career: first in an FA Cup game for Manchester United against Preston North End in 2015, and again while playing for DC United. The injury from his time in the U.S. prevented him from breathing properly through one side of his nose. "I couldn't blow one side out of my nose and so I had it fixed," he clarified. The surgery involved fixing his nasal septum and cartilage, with plastic tubes inserted to aid healing, which he found uncomfortable. He had postponed the surgery until after the World Cup.

Rooney first shared the results of his nose surgery in August on his podcast 'Stick to United,' a week after undergoing the procedure. He noted the absence of significant bruising but described the discomfort from the inserted tubes.
