A sprawling waterfront compound in Hunts Point, Washington, that its owners meticulously transformed into a private resort over nearly two decades is now on the market for $71 million. The estate, located 15 minutes from downtown Seattle, spans 2.33 acres and includes six bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, and 18,245 square feet of living space.
Dwayne and Terese Clark invested approximately $50 million in developing the property, which encompasses two Mediterranean-inspired residences, a guest cottage, 170 feet of waterfront, two docks, and extensive parking, including a 12-car garage and an indoor car pavilion. The couple envisioned the compound as their personal version of a Four Seasons resort, emphasizing wellness, travel, and curated experiences.
A Haven of Wellness and Entertainment
The property is designed to foster physical and mental well-being, reflecting Dwayne Clark's expertise in longevity and wellness. The estate features a comprehensive wellness center with a gym, three hot tubs, a cold plunge, an infrared sauna, a steam room, a red-light therapy table, a massage room, and a hair salon. "It's not only a home, it's a longevity center of sorts," Dwayne Clark stated.
Entertainment is a central theme, with amenities including a bowling alley, a home theater, and a wine cellar with a tasting room. Outdoor spaces feature terraces, gardens, and a fire pit area surrounded by sculptural figures. The property also boasts both an indoor and an outdoor pool. The indoor pool is noted for its artistic design, with intricate paintings and a wooden diver sculpture intended to evoke perseverance and strength.
A Journey of Global Curation
The Clarks' extensive travels, spanning nearly 85 countries, heavily influenced the estate's design and decor. They personally selected numerous pieces, from Jerusalem stone and antique doors from Peru to a chandelier from a Paris flea market. Columns from Turkey and sinks from China are also incorporated, with items sourced from approximately 23 countries.
"It's been curated from around the world," Dwayne Clark commented, hoping the next owner will appreciate the stories behind each element.
A Unique Collection and Serene Location
A distinctive feature of the compound is the John F. Kennedy Library, housing what Dwayne Clark describes as one of the largest private collections of JFK memorabilia. The collection includes over 100 items, such as Kennedy's White House rocking chair, briefcase, Harvard sweater, and handwritten speeches. Clark's fascination with the former president began shortly after Kennedy's assassination, which occurred on Clark's fifth birthday.
The estate's setting in Hunts Point is characterized by dense greenery and waterfront living, with over 90 established trees exceeding 50 feet in height contributing to a park-like atmosphere. The property's waterfront access allows for tranquil moments, with Dwayne Clark sometimes working on the dock while observing wildlife on Lake Washington.
A New Chapter in Arizona
The Clarks are now preparing to relocate to the Scottsdale area of Arizona. Dwayne Clark, founder of Áegis Living, is also transitioning from CEO to executive chairman in 2027. The couple has begun searching for a new property in Arizona, with plans to continue their passion for design and renovation.
The Hunts Point compound, described by its listing agent Haleh Clapp as "singular in its scale, breadth of amenities and quality of execution," offers a unique blend of luxury, personal history, and global artistry for its next owner.
