The Lake Washington School District has launched a review into a video circulating on social media that appears to show a district employee making celebratory remarks about the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The incident reportedly occurred at a farmer's market.

The video, shared on X by the account Right Angle News Network, identifies the woman as Kelsey Ballin, a nurse at Eastlake High School. In the footage, she allegedly says, "Oh my God, thank God he’s dead, bye," after Kirk is mentioned. The employee also appears to make gestures captured in the video.

Charlie Kirk was reportedly assassinated on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. The Lake Washington School District confirmed it is aware of the video and the concerns raised by community members. A spokesperson stated that the district is reviewing the circumstances and that the views expressed do not represent the district's values.

"The district takes these concerns seriously," the spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "While we cannot comment on individual personnel matters, district leadership has initiated a review of the circumstances surrounding this incident and will follow established processes as the review moves forward."

The district emphasized its commitment to fostering welcoming, safe, and inclusive learning environments and stated that employees are expected to uphold professional standards and the district's values. The statement also noted that district employees retain rights as private citizens and that the district is balancing these principles as it handles the situation. Due to the ongoing personnel matter, no further information was provided.

Turning Point USA's spokesman, Andrew Kolvet, shared the video on X, questioning why "so many of these awful humans" are drawn to children, schools, and medicine.

Eastlake High School is part of the Lake Washington School District, located in Sammamish, Washington.
