A tense confrontation occurred Tuesday on the floor of the United Nations General Assembly hall, involving U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz and Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla. The dispute escalated into a shouting match as Waltz was presenting details about Cuba's real estate holdings.
According to reports, Parrilla approached the rostrum while Waltz was speaking, accusing the U.S. envoy of making false statements. Waltz responded by shouting, “Back up!” and stated, “He’s not going to intimidate me in the United States of America — like he tries to intimidate political prisoners.”
During the altercation, a video captured by The Post appeared to show a member of the Cuban delegation attempting to seize an iPhone from Waltz's spokesman, J.P. Freire, who was reportedly recording the incident. UN officials intervened to restore order.
